A Legendary Course Gets a Second Act
Once home to the historic Metacomet Country Club and its beloved 18-hole golf course, this land has been a cornerstone of the community for decades, hosting championships and tournaments that shaped the area’s identity. In 2020, Marshall Properties acquired the property with a vision to honor that legacy while breathing new life into it. The plan preserves part of the original course and transforms the rest into a vibrant mixed-use neighborhood set along the beautiful New England coastline in Providence, Rhode Island.
The course has been thoughtfully redesigned into a 9-hole layout that showcases the most stunning landscape features, offering breathtaking vistas at every hole. What was once 18 holes of private play now becomes a tighter, more curated experience rooted in the best of what the original course had to offer.
History Preserved, Future Unlocked
The remaining land will be reimagined into a dynamic blend of retail, residential, and senior living. Anchoring the development is a new grocery store, surrounded by 153,000 square feet of retail space, 532 multifamily residential units spread over 650,000 square feet, and 368 senior living units across 428,000 square feet. The programming creates a true neighborhood, one where daily needs, housing options, and community gathering all exist within the same footprint.
It’s a project that doesn’t erase what came before. It builds on it, creating a place where the area’s rich history and its next chapter exist side by side.
