The Longmeadow Shops has long been a premier retail destination in Western Massachusetts. Our team was brought on to expand the complex while preserving the distinctive character that made it a community favorite. The vision centered on growth that felt natural, not forced, adding square footage without disrupting the identity that draws people in.
The result is a new 21,126-square-foot building thoughtfully designed to accommodate three major retailers: CVS, Verizon, and J. Crew Mercantile. The expansion merges seamlessly with the existing architecture through harmonious materials, scale, and detailing, ensuring the new construction reads as part of the original rather than an addition to it.
A Better Way In
Beyond adding retail space, our design introduced a welcoming new gateway at the complex’s east end, improving circulation and creating a more intuitive shopping experience. The enhancement gives visitors a clear, inviting entry point that the original layout lacked, strengthening the overall flow of the complex and reinforcing the Longmeadow Shops’ position as a destination the community can continue to grow with.
