Morris County Courthouse

Morristown, NJ

Office Building

A Modern Home for Morris County’s Courts
Morris County’s new eight-story criminal courthouse was designed to bring the county’s judicial functions together in a modern, secure and accessible facility. The building includes multiple courtrooms and hearing rooms, judges’ chambers, mediation and training spaces, and a dramatic three-story public lobby that helps orient visitors as they enter the courthouse.
Public amenities, including waiting areas and a café, support a more welcoming experience, while secure operational spaces are carefully separated from public circulation. Second-floor parking, a sallyport, detention holding areas and a dedicated loading dock strengthen security and allow courthouse activities to operate efficiently behind the scenes.
Multidisciplinary Design From the Ground Up
Our professionals supported the courthouse with services spanning site and civil engineering, surveying, structural and geotechnical engineering, environmental assessments and landscape architecture. Each discipline contributed to a coordinated design that responds to the demands of a complex civic facility while supporting accessibility, safety and long-term performance.
Landscape architecture helped shape a welcoming exterior that complements the building’s contemporary character, while close attention to site circulation, finishes and signage reinforced a clear and cohesive visitor experience. The completed courthouse gives Morris County a state-of-the-art judicial facility designed to serve the community for decades to come.
