We provided engineering services for embankment raising and new pumping stations to modernize the local flood protection systems to reduce flood risk in the City of Devils Lake.
This project consisted of a six-foot raise to the existing flood protection embankment, removal of existing pump stations, design and construction of two new pumping stations, channel and gravity pipe connection, utility relocations, interior drainage hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, culverts, channels, site/civil layout, berms, landscaping, and other infrastructure improvements. The team also addressed several constructability challenges, including unstable soils, winter concreting, harsh winter conditions, and highwater levels.
